iPad’s have once again taken the pole in terms of 2013 sales, which isn’t too much of a surprise. The real metric that people will be talking about is Google’s Chromebook’s, they have outsold Apple’s MacBooks and that is a first. 9 to 5 Mac is reporting that Chromebooks outsold MacBooks at an over five-to-one margin.
9 to 5 Mac is also reporting that even though Apple’s tablets took the market they still took a small loss, losing 1.3% of the market. Looks like Apple is finally seeing real competition in the market on both the tablet and laptop fronts. While there is heated debate over the usefulness of Chromebooks, the metrics certainly don’t lie that people are scooping them up. This post is being written on a MacBook but the Chromebook is also being used for research right next to it. I firmly believe there is a market for Chromebooks and I think they’ll only get better. Excited to see what PC makers have in store at CES in terms of Chrome OS. Hit the links for sources.
