|

Google is working it’s way into more facets of your life, reporting on January 13th that they’ve made a bid to purchase Nest Labs Inc – creators of the popular Nest thermostat, and new Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm – in a deal worth $3.2 billion in cash.

Larry Page, CEO of Google, said: “Nest’s founders, Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers, have built a tremendous team that we are excited to welcome into the Google family. They’re already delivering amazing products you can buy right now–thermostats that save energy and smoke/CO alarms that can help keep your family safe. We are excited to bring great experiences to more homes in more countries and fulfill their dreams!”

Nest will continue to operate as a distinct brand, but with some extra backing from Google.  What products would you like to see Nest tackle now that they’ll be getting some help from Mountain View
