The Verge is reporting Google has officially opened up their popular Chromecast dongle to all developers. Initially Chromecast was limited to a few apps such as Play Music and Netflix. Then Google allowed a few others to the party like HBO Go, Hulu Plus, Plex, and others. Now Google is opening pandora’s box and the sky is the limit! This means any developer can make their apps Chromecast compatible, something many have been waiting and wishing for. Chromecast is a great cord cutting solution and very inexpensive (as long as you own a compatible smartphone or tablet) at $35. We’re looking forward to watching Chromecast grow, the potential is certainly there for explosive growth.
