iPhone-Gaiam

Gaiam (pronounced “guy-um”) is widely known as the go-to source for all things yoga; from bedding to toe-less yoga socks (yes, such a thing does exist).  So imagine my complete shock to discover they also have a line of tech accessories available for iOS and Samsung devices.

The Gaiam Filigree Wood iPhone 5 cover is a beautifully crafted case.  At first glance, its artsy and unique simplistic design catches your eye.  This one piece, snap on case is composed of a maplewood outer back and an ABS (Acrylonitrite Butadiene Styreme, a superior polymer known for its toughness; yay science!) rear coating and side protection.  The side coating slightly raises the bezel for added screen protection.  All buttons, camera and the speaker grills are completely accessible via accurate cutouts.  The case doesn’t add bulk and the phone feels secure when housed in the covering.  Gaiam offers this case in cork, wood and fabric both in Filigree, Hydrangea and Tree of Life.

Final Thoughts:

While I’m not a fan of the worn look on the back of the phone, I was impressed with this case.  When shopping for cases, I don’t usually gravitate towards the wood section but the ABS coating gave me a nice sense of security and I liked the contrast against my white phone.  If your significant other is a yoga enthusiast he/she will love this case and be the envy of their Barkan class.
