File this under: “Not Tech-But Geeky and Needs to be Talked About.” Yesterday Humble Bundle released a new bundle called the Humble Image Bundle and supplies up to 9 volumes of comic books published by Image Comics. The bundle breaks out into 3 different tiers featuring different books. The tiers break down as follows:
We’re a small startup technology website that covers the latest tech news. We also provide product reviews and opinions on some of your favorite gadgets and thingamabobs. We’re not funded by any corporate entity and we really want to keep it that way. So please check out our Patreon page and show your support for independent tech news. We feel once corporations get involved in the news it can become skewed and agendas become the focus. We want to focus on our readers, listeners and viewers not on some entity dictating what should be said.
Can you imagine an electric supercar with a zero to 62mph time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 190mph? That’s what Rimac Automobili is building and hopes to have investors for. This sleek looking supercar is one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever laid virtual eyes on. The low stance and broad shoulders give it an aggressive posture making it look like a wing gliding just over the ground. Rimac might finally see itself being produced with the help of investors in Hong Kong and Colombia. Rimac is based out of Croatia.
Mother Nature is the ultimate attention seeker and tonight, April 28th, at 11 p.m PT/2 a.m ET she will be showing us the “Ring Of Fire” annular solar eclipse. First things first, this review is going to assume a certain level of knowledge of the MOBA genre. I am intentionally not getting mired down with the minutia that is shared between practically every title in the category. If you are unfamiliar with these types of games, I would recommend reading up here, before proceeding further into this review.
The Huffington Post is reporting that Samsung has admitted a small number of its recently shipped Galaxy S5 smartphones may have defective cameras. Samsung has already fixed the situation for any future shipments, although no word was given as to why the cameras were duds.
Leo’s Fortune follows the story of Leo, a small little fur ball with a mustache and what seems like a Russian accent. You are Leo and you are hunting down the animal that decided he was going to steal your fortune. The game starts off with a short narration and overview of the game, the story and its objectives.
Hey there folks! We’re growing and expanding here at Techaeris, and part of that growth is a new monthly podcast we call Aercast. I recently found a Kickstarter campaign for a very novel (pun completely intended) idea. Storium is a web-based multi-player story writing game. Take a second and re-read that last sentence, I’ll wait. From the Kickstarter page:
Some brilliant minds in Australia have a new 3D modeling system that can model insects as small as 3 mm and bring their characteristics into a scale that scientists can study them better. These large colored 3D models are kind of creepy but really cool at the same time. I’ve often wondered what we would do if some of these bugs were the size of large dogs, we’d probably be in some trouble. Check out the Abstract from the PLOS One website and hit the links after the break for more info.
If you’ve ever gone looking for a new music player for your Android smartphone or tablet, you’ll know that the Google Play Store is cluttered with hundreds upon hundreds of apps in that category. Less than half of them are worth your taps, and less than half of those are worth the price they ask for. Orpheus Music Player, however, is worth every single cent of the 99 cents you’ll pay for it, and then some!
I’ve certainly complained about Facebook in the past, and my feelings have largely remained the same. It’s no secret that Facebook doesn’t seem to respect your privacy, and really wants to pry open and inspect all aspects of your life. For the most part we seem to let them. They roll out changes to their privacy settings, making you opt-out of updates that increasingly open up your data – if you can even find where to opt-out in their giant mess of settings.
Wouldn’t you love to carry around a laptop adapter that was four times smaller and six times lighter than what you’re forced to lug around with you now? Well the folks at FINsix think you deserve just that and that’s why they created the Dart. The Dart is a 65w AC adapter WITH built in USB 2.1 for charging phones and tablets at the same time. Video after the break.
The folks over at OnePlus have finally unveiled the smartphone they have controversially marketed for the past few months (the One). There are two models available, a 16GB model for $299 and a 64GB model for $349. Did that get your attention? Even though some of this companies marketing choices have soured some users, this phone just may be worth a look, video after the break.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Sony Pictures is in talks with Leonardo DiCaprio to play the roll of Steve Jobs in the film adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs biography. Last year’s movie “Jobs”, staring Ashton Kutcher, didn’t do too well at the box office and hit sour notes with critics. Sony is basing their film off of the actual biography of Steve Jobs which is probably a good idea given that a lot of what is written in that book comes from Jobs himself. Sony is also hitting up Danny Boyle to direct the film as the deal with David Fincher fell through due to some disagreements between Sony and the director.
The Google Tango project is about to blast off…no, seriously, it’s going to space. The Project Tango team is working with NASA to integrate their new 3D technology into the International Space Station.
It’s no secret who the king of the search engines is and Bing has been on a run trying to catch up to that king. Bing rolled out a rewards program awhile back, that offers users rewards for using Bing to perform web searches. You can connect with a Microsoft or Facebook account and earn stuff like restaurant and online gift cards to Microsoft sweepstakes entries. Well now Bing has begun offering up points towards frequent flyer miles for members of participating airlines. Announcement after the break.

The last we saw of Elago was my review of their S5C series iPhone case, which I really loved for its minimal design and awesome price point. This time around I’m taking a look at Elago’s Rustic Stylus for tablets and phablets.

Land Rover has always made some really awesome SUV’s from design to functionality. So it’s no surprise that their latest concept SUV, the Discovery, is beauty wrapped in steel. The first noteworthy feature is the absence of door handles on the Discovery. As a lover of minimal design and clean lines, I find door handles break up the symmetry of the body and generally are gaudy. There have been great attempts at integrating door handles into design and keeping the lines clean and crisp, the Acura NSX comes to mind. But Land Rover takes it a step further and completly does away with door handles, opting instead for a gesture controlled interface. Check out the video after the break.
