Watch out Google Now and Siri, Domino’s Pizza is introducing Dom. Dom is their new “in app” digital assistant that will take your pizza order straight from your smart device. Pizza joints have always been at war over customers and now Domino’s is trying to escalate the assault by attempting to offer an easier way to order your pies. Domino’s says Dom will deliver a “human-like” experience to its customers.

“It is not perfect,” Domino’s CEO Patrick Doyle said in an interview. “This is the sort of thing, like any other really new technology launch, you’re going to learn, you’re going to get better.”

Business Insider says that mobile and online ordering make up 40% of Domino’s business. So it makes sense that they would want to make their online and mobile ordering experience a better one for their users. Mobile and online users also spend more and return more often due to the convenience. Here’s how Dom will work.

After pulling up the app, customers type in their address and are taken to the ordering page where they can push a button to order by voice. A voice that identifies itself as “Dom” walks customers through the process by asking if they want additional toppings or other items. To pay, customers still have to type in their credit card information.

I personally prefer local Chicago pizza myself (Giordano’s FTW), not much of  a chain eater but this is definitely a nice touch Domino’s is adding to its mobile experience, should it work properly. What do you think? Would an easier ordering experience and payment option sway you to buy more Domino’s pizza? Let us know in the comments below or on Google Plus, Twitter and Facebook.
