In the world of apps, there is a seemingly endless array of distractions to choose from and on any given day there are usually hundreds of additions to the pool. But this morning, Game Oven delivers an app to the Google Play market that is for lack of a better term, just a little unique.
The concept is simple. Basically, it’s a combination of the game Twister and ballet dancing. You and a friend hold one end of the smartphone and contort and twist your bodies so that you can move the marker into the goal. The unique aspect of it though is that you are basically “dancing” with your co-op player as you play.
The game features:
- Choreography by Ernst Meisner of the Dutch National Ballet
- 6 dances + 1 exclusive dance for Android!
- Classical music
- Tutorial video’s with professional ballet dancers
On a technical note, the story of how “Bounden” finally got published on Android is interesting. Bojan Endrovski on Game Oven‘s website says, “you know that we ran into some gyroscope issues on Android devices and were forced to delay the launch of Bounden on Android. Now, a month later, and thanks to genuine support from fans and a company called Xsens, we are proud to announce that Bounden is available on the Google Play store now.” Perhaps this could mean future innovation with the gyroscope and games/apps with that hurdle behind them.
I have a very dance oriented 6 year old and so I am kinda looking forward to giving this a go with her. I would probably recommend playing it in a room with carpet or a rug underneath as I would imagine with all the contorting and moving that the device itself is in danger of getting dropped and often. But, if you are looking for a new and interesting app to play with friends or family that might also make you a better ballet dancer then I can’t imagine you not loving “Bounden” by Game Oven.
