Love tech Podcasts? Get ready for Relay FM

If you are like me, then listening to podcasts is probably one of the top things you do on your smart device. The ability of apps to download episodes of your favourite show in the background so they are ready for your daily commute so that you have something interesting to listen to on the go is a great feature for these modern tools.

I particularly have a love of good tech podcasts (such as the Aercast), and it is great to see Myke Hurrley and Stephen Hackett announce a new podcast network launching today called Relay.fm.

Relay.fm is brought to you by Stephen Hackett and Myke Hurley (who previously ran the network 70 Decibels and, until recently, was part of 5by5). It will feature three familiar podcasts under new guises:

  • Connected (formerly The Prompt) – a podcast centered around Apple and related companies
  • Inquisitive (formerly Cmd+Space) – a weekly interview show usually with creative tech types
  • and Virtual (formerly Directional) – a weekly show focusing on computer games and gaming culture

As well, The Pen Addict (a podcast about all things stationary) returns, and a new podcast called Analog(ue) which looks at using digital devices better in our daily lives.

Although there are many other podcast out there that tackle similar themes, Myke and Stephen bring some deep insights as well as great jokes to their shows. If you are looking for a new show (or three) to add to your podcast playlist then keep your ears open (and podcast app of choice ready) for their launch today. Monday the 18th of August.

What podcasts top your list of favorites to listen to? What podcast apps and/or services do you frequently use to keep up with them? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter!
