Christian Bale To Play Steve Jobs In Isaacson Adaptation

Entertainment / Movies / Tech

Pirates of Silicon Valley was the first movie to take a stab at somewhat telling the story of Steve Jobs and Noah Wiley actually did a fairly decent job. Fast forward after Steve’s death and we found Ashton Kutcher playing the role of Steve Jobs in the movie Jobs.
Kutcher gained mixed reviews as did the movie in general, of note, Steve Wozniak did not support the movie Jobs instead throwing his support to the movie based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve. Now that movie is taking shape with the announcement of Christian Bale in the lead role. Aaron Sorkin, the films director, confirmed Bale’s role and had this to say to Bloomberg.

Sorkin, who wrote the screenplay for the acclaimed film “The Social Network,” about the founding of Facebook, is at the helm of the picture and said of Bale’s casting, “What we needed was the best actor. He really is a phenomenal actor,” Sorkin said. “He didn’t have to audition.”
Bale will be in every scene, Sorkin said, and it’s an “extremely difficult part. He’s going to crush it,” Sorkin assured.

Bale is indeed a talented actor, though he’s had a reputation of being difficult to work with and while his physical features aren’t screaming Steve Jobs, I think his acting will be far above that of Ashton Kutcher. This should be an interesting film once it comes out. What do you think of Christian Bale as Steve Jobs? Let us know in the comments or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.
