Do you want free money? Google Wallet would like to give you $5 for doing practically nothing! In an effort to expand their user base, Google Wallet is rolling out a limited-time promotion to reward new users, along with the established users that invite them.
If you use Google Wallet, you probably already know how easy it is to use. You can send and receive money from friends with just a few clicks, use your NFC-enabled phone to tap and pay at participating businesses, and at least for the next few months, still use Wallet for digital purchases on the web (physical purchases aren’t going anywhere, don’t worry).
If you haven’t used Google Wallet, what better time to start? For a limited time (11/30/2014, or 20,000 referrals whichever comes first), Google is offering a $5 Google Wallet credit to both the referring user as well as the referred. If you’re referring a friend, you simply need to send them money – even just a penny will do. A few rules will apply for both parties, but as long as you fit the criteria, and get in before the promotion ends, you and your friend can each earn a tidy $5 (within 3 business days) for minimal work. Rules and regulations are listed below.
- Both of your home addresses have to be in the US.
- You and your friend will have to verify your identities.
- You’ll need to have a Wallet Balance already.
- It has to be your friend’s first time creating a Wallet Balance.
- You can introduce as many friends as you want to Google Wallet, but you can only get a $5 credit for up to 20 referrals.
So there you go. Google is willing to throw out $200,000 to promote Google Wallet, and there are only very minimal hoops to jump through in order to claim your part of that payout.
