The Federal Bureau of Investigation is already looking into the hack job that befell Sony Pictures where several unreleased films were leaked online. Employee social security numbers and other personal information was also lost in that hack attack, even information on high profile Hollywood personalities. Now Sony employees are on alert after many have received threatening emails from a group calling themselves the GOP or Guardians of Peace. The FBI and other analysts are calling these emails and threats “credible” and Sony employees should take caution. The GOP email is below.
I am the head of GOP who made you worry.

Please sign your name to object the false of the company at the email address below if you don’t want to suffer damage. If you don’t, not only you but your family will be in danger.

Sony is working very closely with the FBI to find those responsible for the hacks and for the threats. There has been speculation that the hack was initiated by North Korea in retaliation for a movie that presents Kim Jong-un in a less than stellar light. Analysts have acknowledged that the hack is indeed very sophisticated but some believe the attack goes deeper than a North Korean payback. Whoever is responsible, they have Sony’s attention as well as the FBI’s. More on this story as it develops.Source: NBC News Via: Variety
