Lenovo Unveils New ThinkPad Line Up at CES; Includes X1 Carbon, ThinkVision, and ThinkPad STACK For Increased Mobility

Lenovo has unveiled its new ThinkPad line up just ahead of CES 2015. In addition to updating the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and announcing ThinkPad STACK, Lenovo is celebrating its one hundred millionth ThinkPad.

“Since the original ThinkPad 700, ThinkPad engineers have continued to drive innovation by making each new ThinkPad better than the last. ThinkPad Line Up

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a sleek carbon-fiber 14″ Ultrabook which weighs in at just under 2.9lbs. Features include 5th generation Intel® Core™ i7 processors, 14-inch WQHD (2560×1440) touch screen, Intel HD GT2 graphics, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, up to 512GB SSD, backlit keyboard, and more. Models of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon start at $1249 and will be available starting this month.

Lenovo has many other ThinkPad options available including the E450/E550 line for small business, enterprise and education users; the entry-level L450 offers enterprise value for business needs; the 14″ T450s business Ultrabook; the 15″ T550 business standard laptop; and the X250 high-performance Ultrabook for business user requireing maximum functionality. The entire line of these ThinkPad models should be available starting in February 2015 and range in price from $599 to $1149.

ThinkVision X24

The ThinkVision X24 is Lenovo’s ultra-slim 1080p IPS borderless monitor and boasts an ultra-narrow bezel. The 1920×1080 resolution monitor features 178 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles, a contrast ratio of 10:1 reaching a 3M:1 dynmaic contrast, 7ms response time, and 16.7M color depth. The ThinkVision also features HDMI and DisplayPort inputs.

The ThinkVision X24 starts at $249 and will be available starting in April 2015.

ThinkPad STACK

The ThinkPad STACK is perhaps Lenovo’s most interesting addition to the ThinkPad lineup as it combines four accessories into one stacked system to provide greater portability. The configurable ThinkPad STACK accessories allow for mix and match stacking and options include:

  • 2×2 watt Bluetooth® speaker with noise-cancelling microphone, easy-access controls and 8 hours of playback
  • A dual port USB power bank that can simultaneously charge two USB-equipped devices simultaneously
  • Lightning speed data transfer and mobile storage solution with a 1TB USB 3.0 HDD
  • Access Point that provides strong, stable and fast WiFi anywhere

The accessories can also be stacked together to provide extended features, including:

  • Two power banks together provide 20k mAh capacity power
  • Bluetooth® speaker and Power Bank together provides 48 hours of battery life
  • Access Point and HDD create a 1TB cloud that can be accessed locally or remotely
  • One App software to manage the whole stack and your personal cloud with Access point and HDD together

The ThinkPad STACK has a small footprint as well, all four accessories stacked occupy a space just 5.3″ x 2.9″ and weigh in at only 1.9lbs.
