Phorus Brings Spotify Streaming To DTS Play-Fi Multi-Room Audio

|

Our very own Alex Hernandez recently reviewed several Phorus speakers and came away quite impressed. The multi-speaker, multi-room audio provided via the DTS Play-Fi system allows for immersive sound no matter where you are in your house. With the Play-Fi app you can send music to any speaker, or all speakers at once. You can even split up the speakers so that multiple people can listen to their own music on their closest speaker.

One of the only complaints that Alex had about the whole thing was the lack of Spotify streaming. Well, he can cross that off of his list as today DTS has announced that Spotify is now available to stream via the Play-Fi app on all Phorus speakers.

Phorus and DTS have been working to get popular streaming services on board with the Play-Fi ecosystem, and Spotify is certainly a big feather to add to their cap. With over 15 million paid users as recently as January, 2015 Spotify is a popular streaming service for sure.

Any Spotify users giving Phorus and Play-Fi another look after this announcement? Or any Play-Fi users giving Spotify a shot now that the option is available? Let us know in the comments or on your favorite social media site.
