Pebble Time Shipping Out On May 27th To Backers

The first bundle of Pebble Time watches will start shipping out on May 27th to backers who were first in line to order the watch. Those who were first will get their tracking numbers in the middle of June, so not too much longer for those who are anxious to receive it. Unfortunately, I was not one of them to order the watch though I very much enjoyed the 1st generation Pebble watch.

Early backers were able to pay the price of $159 (regular price $199), while the second tier pays $179 and gets one of three colors (black, white, or red). Pebble Time Steel on the other hand won’t ship until July if you have ordered one of them. Nonetheless, there doesn’t seem to be any issues in the way from having the set of watches being shipped.

Pebble Time has some feature that most smartwatches have these days, but it’s still nice to see another smartwatch keeping up with the trend. Main features for the Pebble time are: color e-paper display, up to 7 day battery life (same as other Pebble watches and 10 days for Pebble Time Steel), newer interface, and a microphone for voice replies. For iOS users, voice replies are limited to Gmail notifications.

There will be a new app called Pebble Time Watch, that is specific for the Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel. The app store will provide you with color apps and watchfaces. My Pebble is the new name that took the place of Locker, where you’re able to choose which watchfaces and apps show on the watch. Pebble has also done away with the 8 app limit and now allows you to manage as many watchapps as possible locally. Pebble Time/Time Steel is compatible with iOS 8 (4s and above) and all Android phones running Android 4,0+.

Did you order the Pebble Time or Pebble Time Steel or will you wait until it’s available for purchase at a retail store? Drop a comment here, on Google +, Facebook, or Twitter.
