An interesting screenshot has popped up on Google+ via Google+ user Hugo Seijas of a Google rewards survey containing four interesting words, Google Monthly Movie Pass. Could Google be working on a competitor to Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix? Anything is possible with Google as they have their hands into just about everything at this point.

With Netflix possibly testing out advertising what would Google’s business model be on a venture like this? One would expect advertising from Google since the bulk of their profits are derived from advertising. Google already has a streaming music service that is actually pretty decent and well loved. Adding a streaming movie and television service only makes sense. It’s also entirely possible that this is simply a move by Google to make sure that Google Opinion Rewards users aren’t lying on their surveys. Some people have seen questions asking about businesses that don’t exist to attempt to weed out liars, could this be another such survey?

Whatever becomes of Google Monthly Movie Pass one thing we do know is that streaming content is becoming king and people are adding it to their cable services in droves. While some are being safe and keeping both cable and streaming, it won’t be long before we start seeing the death of cable or at least some sort of morphing of the model. Binge watching is all the rage these days, with the success of Netflix that’s pretty evident.
