IDEAA (International Developer Education and Advocacy Alliance) has announced that Google Developers is teaming up as a major partner for the 2015 Big Android BBQ (BABBQ). The BABBQ, in its sixth year, is an annual gathering of Android developers who meet up and attend education sessions and network with other developers. Having Google Developers on board as a major partner is expected to bring the BABBQ up to the next level.

“I can’t even begin to explain how excited we are to have Google on board. After speaking with Reto and Chet at our last BABBQ, we truly believe that BABBQ15 will be our best conference yet” Aaron Kasten, CEO & Co-Founder, IDEAA.

The focus of this year’s BABBQ is on Android Performance Patterns and many of the sessions will show developers how to optimize Android app performance. Taking place in Hurst, Texas on October 22 & 23rd, the website is now live and those wanting to attend can order tickets, apply to become a sponsor, and the submission process to become a speaker will be opening soon.

Google Developers Announced as Major Partner for the 2015 Big Android BBQ

IDEAA and Google Developers team up to deliver the best Android Developer Conference ever!

(June 18, 2015 – Hurst, Texas) The International Developer Education and Advocacy Alliance (IDEAA) is proud to announce that they are teaming up with Android heavy-hitters, Google Developers for this year’s Big Android BBQ (BABBQ)! Together, IDEAA and Google Developers plan to take the Big Android BBQ to another level – offering more sessions, more challenges, and a more in-depth examination of Android Performance Patterns. The 2015 Big Android BBQ is sure to leave you exhausted and inspired.

Dedicated to educating and inspiring developers everywhere, Google Developers offers tools, guides and references to developers that want to continually work to make their apps better. On top of their online resources, there are Google Developer chapters located across the country — allowing developers to get together and encourage one another to expand their knowledge base and step out of their comfort zone. Their recent venture is their #GoogleDev100 stream of developer Youtube videos, which offers a new lesson once a day for 100 days. It is this type of dedication to building and solidifying the Android developer community that has inspired IDEAA to become what they are today.

“I can’t even begin to explain how excited we are to have Google on board. After speaking with Reto and Chet at our last BABBQ, we truly believe that BABBQ15 will be our best conference yet” Aaron Kasten, CEO & Co-Founder, IDEAA.

The 2015 Big Android BBQ Delivered by Google Developers website has officially been launched today. Tickets are available for purchase and volunteer applications will be opening soon. The call for speakers will also be going out soon and IDEAA strongly encourages developers and companies to apply.

“The IDEAA Team is a tight-knit group. We are 100% dedicated to continually providing our attendees with the latest and greatest knowledge and tools to make sure they are on the cutting edge of development. We also want to help remove as many barriers as possible and expose more people to development. One of the ways we are doing this is by offering paid day care for attendees during both days of the BABBQ.” Corry Robb, VP Operations & Co-Founder, IDEAA.
