OnePlus has been an interesting company to follow to say the least. With the hoopla release of their OnePlus One “flagship killer” they’ve been making waves in the smartphone community. Priced in at an affordable $299 and $349 the OnePlus One was a smartphone that was hard to ignore. That is until you couldn’t buy one. Marketing missteps may have cost OnePlus a few eyeballs but they were able to turn it around and make the first generation a small success. Now the OnePlus 2 is set to be released with OnePlus holding a 10pm ET press conference to announce it’s release date, but that OnePlus 2 release date seems to have leaked out.

According to TechnoBuffalo the image above shows a document (in Chinese) that says you can experience OnePlus 2 in their stores on August 8, 2015. This document isn’t verified but TechnoBuffalo has been a good source of these leaks before. And to add to the OnePlus 2 excitement, new photos showed up on Google+ via Court Mejias showing the new design, fingerprint scanner, and back of the OnePlus 2.

As you can see the OnePlus 2 looks very similar to its predecessor with the major exception of the fingerprint scanner. The back still has that sandstone look to it which many users loved. The metal looks much more premium on this version  than the last and let’s hope less prone to chips. What do you think of these photos? Will you be buying the OnePlus 2?
