Motorola is expanding its Moto Xpress door-to-door concept in India at a cost to the user of Rs 199 (just over $3USD). Smartphones are great to have and almost a necessary part of life these days. So when your device breaks or you’re having issues with the software, you don’t want to have to find somewhere to get it fixed. This is where Moto Xpress comes in. If you have an issue with your smartphone just contact Moto Xpress and they will work on any hardware or software related issues. Timelines for completion of work range from an hour to five days, depending on the issue with the phone.
Xiaomi is also offering a similar kind of service in India. Indian users have complained about long wait times, drive times and rude service people at their local mobile repair outlets, so Motorola and Xiaomi seized on the opportunity.
Motorola users can avail this pick-and-drop service by dialing Moto Xpress Service booking number ‘011-41717124’ and the company promises to have someone around to your location in quick time. Convenience has become a major luring point with consumers these days and by deploying the Xpress service, Motorola aims to improve its customer relations with adequate and efficient service support which is not available with every brand.
It’s an interesting concept and one that is really convenient, it’s not clear what the benefit for Motorola is or if this is cost effective. Perhaps more of a marketing push to pull in more users to the brand. We’ll see how this service fares in India and if Motorola brings it anyplace else.
