BlackBerry Priv Price Briefly Shown On BlackBerry Website

The BlackBerry Priv price briefly showed up on BlackBerry’s website yesterday showing a shocking $749 starting point. The news broke quickly and spread fast that the Priv was sporting a flagship price and it didn’t take long for people to scoff at that. While the iPhone and Galaxy lines can support a higher price tag, it is hard to justify paying such a high price for a BlackBerry Android phone that has yet to prove itself. With other Android phone makers coming in with lower prices, like Motorola and now HTC, people may walk right on by the BlackBerry. Even if the company is positioning itself as the Android enterprise phone solution, companies might find it hard to swallow being asked to pay that much for untested technology. The Priv specs that appeared on the page are as follows:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 418 GPU
  • Curved 5.43 inch 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution plastic AMOLED, 540 ppi, with Gorilla Glass 4
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 32GB of internal storage with microSD card slot
  • Rear 18 megapixel camera and front-facing 2 megapixel camera
  • 3410 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support
  • Integrated wireless charging supporting PMA and Qi

With so many other Android phones on the market priced below the Priv, even Google’s Nexus line is cheaper, do you think the Priv stands a chance at $749? Would you pick one up at that price? Why do you think BlackBerry pulled the listing down so quickly? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.
