That’s right everyone’s favorite kick ass super-heroine Chloë Grace Moretz will take on the lead role in the upcoming The Little Mermaid reboot. Moretz will play everyone’s favorite fish out of water, Ariel (sorry Darrell Hannah/Madison), in the live action version of the mermaid classic. Moretz is known for several roles on screen, the most important (IMO) being that of Hit-Girl in the movie series, Kick Ass. But she’s also done other films like The Equalizer and the Carrie remake. One of her best roles, forgive me Hit-Girl, was that of Mia Hall in the stunning drama, If I Stay (some critics disagree with me).
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a rating of 36%, based on 118 reviews. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Although Chloë Grace Moretz gives it her all and the story adds an intriguing supernatural twist to its melodramatic YA framework, If I Stay is ultimately more manipulative than moving.” –Wikipedia
Moretz announced her role as Ariel on Twitter and she seemed to be relieved that she could finally talk about it.

As with any actor, Moretz has had mixed reviews over her acting and roles but overall I’ve enjoyed her in what she’s been in and I think she’ll do a great job in the live action The Little Mermaid.
