Use BlackBerry Priv Apps On Android Devices Running 4.0 And Above

I’m not sure if you guys like it when OEMs put their own apps in the Google Play Store so they can update much easier like I do, but BlackBerry has put the applications from their BlackBerry Priv flagship device in the Play Store days before it’s actually released. Unfortunately, there’s sort of a downfall to all this  as the apps can’t be downloaded to other Android devices.

Thanks to XDA member Xaiux, you can download BlackBerry Priv apps right now if you want to try them out. Xaiux created the post back on November 7th providing APK links to the keyboard, BlackBerry Services (required for BB Launcher), BlackBerry Launcher (to replace your usual launcher), BlackBerry Calendar, and BlackBerry Hub, which you will need to root your device to use.

So far, I’ve only downloaded the keyboard and calendar APK, and I must say the keyboard is pretty nice, but I need to get used to it again. I haven’t used the BlackBerry keyboard since the BB Z10 came out back in March 2013. If I must say, it looks like it hasn’t changed much especially swiping up to finish a word faster, but has in fact changed for predicting words much better. As for the calendar, it’s simplistic and easy for just about anyone to use. I do plan on trying out the launcher at a later time and will update the article when the time comes.

If you’re wanting to test out these applications on your device, feel free to click here and try them out. Make sure Unknown Sources are checked in your settings so the apps can download and install. Do keep in mind that we are not responsible for any errors that goes on either while downloading or after downloading these apps.

While you’re at it, go ahead and leave a comment about what you think about the apps down below or on Google +, Facebook, or Twitter.
