You can wave goodbye to the old ITV Player and say hello to the latest on demand offering with the ITV Hub. The newly revamped service is available today, with a new updated design and navigation. The channels from the British broadcaster are now separated into different tabs with a large video player at the top of each one, making it easier to click/swipe through and immediately start watching live TV. Alternatively, you can scroll down the page or use the good old-fashioned search bar to see what’s available on-demand.
You’ll find that most of the popular ITV shows such as the X-Factor, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and The Jeremy Kyle Show have a limited selection of episodes, but more than the offerings from rival broadcasters Channel 4 and BBC Four. Alongside the revamped service a number of “premiere” and box set titles have been added to the ITV Hub. These include Beowulf, Prey, Thunderbirds Are Go, Trevor McDonald in Vegas, Birds of a Feather, and Benidorm. ITV said more would be added in the coming months. But Family Guy and American Dad fans will have to wait for these shows to be included in ITV Hub, despite the broadcaster picking up the rights from BBC Three earlier this year.
With major broadcasters in the UK such as the BBC and now Channel Four offering support for devices such as Chromecast, you have to question why ITV haven’t included support for the Chromecast. ITV have announced that the new ITV Hub will be available via Amazon’s Fire stick, Fire TV and Freeview Play. The new ITV Hub is available on most mobile platforms through the links below.
