Adobe’s Lightroom Mobile app has been available free for iOS users since October, and Lightroom Mobile for Android is now finally available for free to all users, including those without Adobe’s Creative Cloud subscription.

Lightroom Mobile for Android 1.4 brings essential tools to view, organize, edit, and share photos on the go with powerful, yet easy to use features. If users wish to add the ability to synchronize files and edits with Lightroom for desktop, they can sign up for a number of Creative Cloud subscriptions, including the $9.99/month Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan.

“The response to making Lightroom Mobile free for iOS has been tremendous,” said Josh Haftel, Senior Product Manager at Adobe. “We’re excited to now bring the same free offering to Android users and expect the response to be just as enthusiastic. Lightroom Mobile is essential in any mobile photography workflow and can now be enjoyed by any Android user.”

Lightroom Mobile for Android also supports raw DNG workflows making it possible to enhance images and take full advantage of all of the quality and details found in images captured on Android devices. Adobe is committed to making Lightroom for Android even better, and making it free like the iOS app is definitely a great step in the right direction.
