[CES 2016] Acer Announces The Aspire Switch 12 S 2-in-1 Notebook

|

With CES 2016 just getting ready to kick off, we’ve already seen many devices announced before we’ve even officially begun. Acer has already announced the Iconia One 8 tablet, and we’re seeing yet another device from Acer — the Aspire Switch 12 S 2-in-1 Notebook.

The device offers a fusion of premium design and the latest tech. At a 12.5-inch display, the notebook can either sport a 4K (3840×2160) or FHD (1920×1080) display with IPS technology. While the anodized aluminum chassis gives off a modern design, users won’t have to worry about a drop in the WiFi signal as the notebook boasts an ExoAmp antenna built into the chassis. It also packs in a sixth generation Intel Core M processor and a Thunderbolt 3 on USB-C (3.1) port.

“The Acer Aspire Switch 12 S is a great example of the innovation taking place in the growing 2-in-1 category. The 6th Generation Intel Core M processor enables a thin and light design with incredible performance and long battery life for ultra-mobility,” said Navin Shenoy, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Mobility Client Platforms Group, Intel. “Additionally it features Thunderbolt 3, the fastest and most versatile connection to any dock, display, or data device, as well as a new Intel RealSense Camera for 3D scanning and enhanced video and photos to give people a state of the art computing experience at home or on the go.”

Of course, while that’s all well and good, you really can’t too excited without a price and a release date. Well Acer has you covered as the company has announced that it will be available in the United States, starting in February of this year with a starting price of $999.99 USD.
