[CES 2016] Dell Debuts Alienware 13″ OLED: First Gaming Notebook Featuring OLED Display

Following up previous successes with its Alienware lineup, Dell has announced the new Alienware 13-inch OLED — the first gaming notebook to feature an OLED display. Dell partnered with Samsung to bring OLED screens to the Alienware 13-inch OLED, and the notebook is custom designed with the mobile gamer in mind.

OLED technology has many added benefits including higher contrast and better color saturation, not to mention lower power consumption and larger fields of view. Dell touts the Alienware 13-inch OLED as the perfect combination of performance, graphics, and size for mobile gamers, and while the first batch will ship in the existing silver chassis this spring, a dark-red chassis is also planned — but not yet official. If you’re interested in the red version, Dell wants to know.

With your help, though, maybe we can make it happen; if you want to get this head-turning design please ‘like’ or comment on this blog. Keep an eye peeled this week at #CES2016 and tweet/RT @Alienware with #OLEDinRED to help us make it happen! While the official specs and price will be announced soon, we can tell you the Alienware 13 OLED will be comparable to the existing Alienware 13 configurations in look and price.

No price has been released yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted once we hear more.

What do you think about a gaming laptop with an OLED display? Do you prefer the silver chassis or will you hold out for the #OLEDinRED version? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
