While the current DC hype is centered around the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the company is taking a much different approach with this fall’s Suicide Squad. First, some colourful and gritty posters were released over the past couple days, and a new Suicide Squad trailer aired during a “DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League” special hosted by Kevin Smith earlier tonight.
Both the group and individual posters are pretty colourful, vibrant, and definitely stylized — and after watching the trailer they definitely fit right in.
In case you haven’t heard, Suicide Squad is about a secret government agency that recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency. The movie stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, and also features Enchantress, Captain Boomerang, Rick Flagg, Killer Croc, Slipknot, El Diablo, and Katana.

Looks to me like an acceptable level of violence and wit, and great choice of song and editing for that trailer! I’ll be the first to admit, I had my doubts but this definitely looks like one fun superhero #WorstHeroesEver movie and I’m looking forward to August 5th.
