There are many solutions out there in the power case world for the iPhone 6 and Spyder is one of them. We’re taking a look at the Spyder battery case for the iPhone 6 and its companion gadget the Spyder PowerShadow dock. Keep reading for the full review!

Spyder Power Case iPhone 6

Specifications

  • Shockproof up to 5 feet
  • Antimicrobial protection
  • Water resistant
  • Dustproof
  • Charge and sync through dock or case
  • 2750 mAh battery
  • Unibody design

Design

The design of the Spyder power case is clean, simple and minimal. Even the branding is done with taste though I would have preferred even more minimal branding. Made from quality plastics and rubbers the case feels solid and well made. Nothing here feels like it’s going to just fall apart in a few months. The power button, volume button and silence buttons all are easily pressed and accessed with good response. The dust and water covers over the charging port and headphone jack are also very easy to operate. Overall a well done design that is slim with a good grip so it doesn’t feel like it will fall out of ones hand.

Installation

It’s easy as slipping any regular case on your phone, nothing to it, most everyone should find this easy to install.

Battery Life

This case should give your iPhone 6/6s at least a full extra charge and you can charge both the case and phone at the same time when plugging it in or sitting it on the PowerShadow Dock. Spyder power claims are as follows.

  • 10 hours extra browsing time.
  • 15 hours extra talk time.
  • 11 hours extra video time.
  • 50 hours extra music playback time.

Protection

This case actually does a great job of protecting your iPhone 6/6s as well. It’s rugged enough to consider it excellent protection and the raised front lip is a great addition. Overall this case is great for protection.

Price/Value

Priced at $99.99 this case is competitively priced and is actually a better value than Apple’s official power case (and better looking).

Wrap Up

A great power case with some great extra features, priced in the same ballpark as the rest and worth taking a look at.

Spyder PowerShadow Dock

Design

Slim and minimal and the PowerShadow dock fits the Spyder Power Case perfectly, and doesn’t take up much room on a desk or nightstand.

Ease of Use

Plug and play basically, nothing to it so it can’t get any easier than it already is.

Performance

Charges both your Spyder Power Case and your iPhone 6/6s so no need to take the case off the phone. An overnight charge will fill up both batteries to capacity, assuming your overnight is around 7-8 hours as mine normally is.

Price/Value

Priced at $39.99 adding this on with the Power Case is a must, it’s a great bedside or desktop solution for charging and keeping an eye on your phone.

Wrap Up

The PowerShadow Dock is a must have, for the extra $40 you’re getting the entire system that works really well to keep your iPhone 6/6s charged up and protected.
