Maroo Audio Ice Collection Review: Earphones For Ladies

|
,

Maroo Audio provides in-ear monitors to some of the biggest names in music including deadmau5 and Radiohead. Now the company has launched some consumer earphones specifically designed for the women’s ear. As we all know, men and women are built different and Maroo Audio decided to cater their Ice and Gem collections towards the latter. Read on to see what we thought of Maroo Audio’s Ice Collection earphones.

Design

The first thing you notice about these earphones is the bling, these are definitely made to be fashionable. Our review sample came in a teal color with diamond shaped gems around them. My wife, who tested these, really liked the looks of them and thought they were nicely done and not gaudy at all. The teal is subtle without being overbearing although she did wish the earphone cable was the same color as the earphones.

She also wished the cable had been a flat design, she’s been using another pair of headphones with the flat cable design and has taken a liking to that. The other thing you notice is the earphones are narrower than other earphones. I’m guessing this has to do with female’s narrower ear canals. Whatever they’ve done, my wife said the fit was nice and not bulky like her other earphones. She felt they were nice and lightweight and fit snuggly inside her ears. You also get a variety of extra tips to get a custom perfect fit because not everyone’s inner ear is shaped the same. Overall the design is nice, not overbearing and just the right amount of fashion.

Sound

Sound quality is really awesome on the Maroo Ice Collection nearly as good as the $180 earphones my wife currently uses from Phiaton. The company claims that the smaller size and fit make for better noise isolation and my wife says that it does help but doesn’t completely isolate all noise. However, the sound as a whole is great for the $79.95 price.

Call Quality

The earphones do come with an inline volume button and call button and the call quality is better than average. My wife uses earphones for calls consistently and these were some of the best earphones for calls she has used.

Price/Value

Overall priced at $79.95 I think these are worth the price, of course price is a personal thing so you’ll have to decided if it’s worth it.

Wrap-Up

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner and coming up very quickly, these could make a great gift for that special lady in your life.
