[Rumor] Release Date Set For The New Macbook Pro

All eyes are on Apple to see what they will announce at their keynote some time in March — March 15th from what the rumor mill is saying, as there will be a few new devices being announced such as a new iPhone reportedly dubbed iPhone 5se, supposedly iPhone 6 specs inside an iPhone 5s body and the rumor of the newest iPad Aru, the iPad Air 3.

While people are excited to see new mobile devices, there are some people that are waiting for a new Macbook. Apple is losing some ground on laptops (selling around 5.3m in Q4 2015) with Windows 10 being out, but introducing a new Macbook Pro should pick those sales right up.

One feature that’ll hopefully be in the new Macbook Pro is the Intel Skylake processor that will help extend battery life and graphics performance. There was a rumor of the Pro having a touch screen display, but that looks like it was shot down by Ryan Reith, a program director with IDC. Having a touch screen on the Macbook Pro has its pros and cons by either boosting sales for Apple or it could end up hurting them in the end. Either way, we all know Apple has final decision on what their newest laptop will feature. One source told Yibada that the Pro wouldn’t hit markets until Q2 2016.

Although the new MacBooks may be introduced during this year’s WWDC in June, their launch dates will come in the later parts of the year. Rumors indicate that the release dates will be distributed across Q3 and Q4 2016, with the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBooks following each other closely in the third quarter at the earliest.

To me it sounds like there will either be two Macbook Pro screen sizes or new Macbooks will be introduced later this year. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see once March hits. What are your thoughts about a new Macbook Pro possibly being announced?
