MSI has released the Vortex, a VR-ready, high-performance mini-tower computer that redefines compact gaming desktops. Don’t let the small footprint fool you though — it stands only 10.5″ tall — as the MSI Vortex is chock full of the latest gaming tech including an unlocked Intel Core i7 6700K processor, up to 64GB of DDR4 memory, SSDs in Super RAID 4, and dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980 GPUs in SLI.

The MSI Vortex comes in two configurations — the G65 SLI-002 with dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 SLI graphics with 16GB of GDDR5 and 32GB DDR4 RAM, and the G65 SLI-011 with dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 SLI graphics with 6GB of GDDR5 and 16GB DDR4 RAM. Both configurations include a number of connectors and support up to six video outputs simultaneously, a 450W 80 plus Gold power supply, and MSI’s 360° Silent Storm Cooling technology to ensure extreme coolness under the most intense gaming sessions. MSI’s cooling system creates a vortex-shaped wind path by capturing heat from the bottom of the unit and circulating it upwards, resulting in superior thermals and acoustics.
The Vortex is also 4K ready, utilizes Killer DoubleShot X3 connectivity for lag-free gaming, and promises an immersive multimedia experience by utilizing Nahimic Military X Gaming audio technology. This mini-tower can be customized and controlled through the Dragon Center Dashboard and App, allowing users to customize lighting preferences, monitor system performance, launch utilities and apps, fine-tune the system with personalized profiles, and more.
