Micromax Canvas Spark 3 Launches In India At Rs. 4,999

Micromax Canvas Spark

The Micromax Canvas Spark 3 smartphone will be unleashed in India April 7th for an affordable Rs. 4,999 (around $75 USD). Micromax will have a flash sale on April 7th via Snapdeal because at this price, the Micromax Canvas Spark 3 is sure to move fast. Registration for the flash sale on the 7th will be open April 1st. The Spark 3 will sport dual-sim slots and will be running Android 5.1 Lollipop with no word of any sort of OS update. With the price point being this low it’s likely Lollipop is as far as it will go.

The Spark 3 also has a 5.5″ IPS HD display (1280×720) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and an unspecified quad-core processor. The on-board storage is a bit disappointing at 8GB which is practically nothing but you can slap a 32GB microSD card in to expand that. Apple still offers its iPhones at 16GB and some argue that isn’t enough storage, the Spark 3 at least offers and expansion slot. On the camera front you have an 8MP rear and 5MP front, no indication of OIS or EIS but again, this is a Rs. 4,999 handset, extremely affordable.

“India being a value driven market, the consumers are seeking more productivity, efficiency, entertainment, multitasking and better connectivity. With the launch of the Canvas Spark 3, we are yet again reinforcing our commitment to make technology and entertainment accessible for everyone and at the same time introducing more people to the best of the connected world. We will continue to disrupt the market with similar innovations in the near future to keep raising the benchmark for technological innovations that directly address the ever evolving consumer needs,” said Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics about the launch.

While we’re likely not going to see the Micromax Canvas Spark 3 here in the States, this is a pretty awesome deal for users in India.
