Huawei Buys Retail Space In Best Buy, Look Out Samsung

An eagle eyed reader spotted something new in their local Best Buy today, it appears that Huawei is now buying retail space from Best Buy. As most of you know, Samsung has been featuring its products in Best Buy for some time now, even opening full on Samsung Experience spaces within Best Buy. Even the Best Buy stores that don’t have the Samsung Experience have at least one area where Samsung is prominently displayed and offered. Now Huawei looks to be getting into the retail space game, at least with one small end cap display anyway.

Huawei has been pushing its Android smartphones hard in the US and overseas with much success and to many great reviews. The device maker was fortunate enough to be tapped to build this years Nexus flagship, the Nexus 6P, which was really well received. But Huawei hasn’t stopped with the Nexus 6P. They also introduced the Honor 5X which also has gotten much accolades and positive press, as well as the Huawei P9 which is looking to be one of the nicest phones from the company yet. And the Huwaei GX8 looks to be a very nice mid-range Android device.

Huawei is pushing itself into direct competition with Samsung and it’s probably safe to say they are Samsung’s closest Android competitor at the moment. With this small push into Best Buy’s retail space, maybe Huawei is sending a message to Samsung to make sure they don’t take their eyes off them. It seems the public at large are impressed with the Chinese device maker’s latest offerings and South Korea’s Android king might want to take notice.

What do you think of Huawei buying space in Best Buy? Do you think Huawei could possibly compete on Samsung’s level? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
