A new update for Apple Music for Android now allows music video playback in the app along with several other improvements to the app. The Android variant of Apple Music was released back in November, and despite a lot of negative feedback from the Android community, Apple has continued to update the app and bring in new features.

Before this update, iOS users were the only ones to enjoy music video playback. This update changes that.

You can now enjoy thousands of music videos on Apple Music – view popular ones featured in New or search for the music videos from your favorite artists.

Android users can now subscribe to family plans which allow up to 6 people to enjoy Apple Music for $15/month.

You can now also sign-up or upgrade to a Family Membership, which allows up to six family members to enjoy Apple Music together.

While it may seem that the Android version of Apple Music is now caught up to the iOS version, there have been several features that were exclusive to Android users. One was the ability to play music off of SD cards. This is huge for Android since a lot of devices have removable storage these days. Another feature — exclusive to Android in general, though notable — is a homescreen widget similar to Google Play Music. It should be appreciated that Apple is at least utilizing Android’s top features.

The best part of this is that you can still obtain a free 3-month trial of Apple Music if you are interested in seeing what it’s all about.
