Margot Robbie To Get Harley Quinn Spin-Off Movie

Margot Robbie and her own Harley Quinn spin-off

We’re just a few months away from Suicide Squad and it looks like Margot Robbie will get her very own Harley Quinn spin-off prior to the movie’s release. That’s right. It looks like Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn has netted the actress her very own movie.

According to EW, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are actively considering given Robbie’s baseball-bat-sporting, pigtail wearing villainess her very own movie. The kicker is, it’ll be produced by Robbie herself.

As far as plot details are concerned, we don’t have much as the details are being kept under wraps. Rumor has it though that this Quinn spin-off won’t focus on the bad girl herself. The movie will apparently have Robbie on the silver screen with other female DC heroes and villains — although Warner Bros. is playing their cards on this one close to the chest and declined to comment.

A source to the project mentioned that Robbie spear-headed the project. The source claims that following filming of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, Robbie became enamored with the plethora of female characters in DC’s quiver. She went so far as to recruit a female writer to help push the project forward.

There’s no word if Robbie’s costars from the upcoming summer movie will make an appearance in the movie, including Jared Leto’s interpretation of the Joker. We know fans of the comic book villainess are hoping to see Robbie sport the character’s trade costume. Perhaps maybe, we’ll see Robbie rock the costume. We can dream right?

Suicide Squad stars Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Jared Leto (The Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jai Courney (Captain Boomerang), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Karen Fukuhara (Katana).

What would you like to see in Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn spin-off? Is her rocking the quintessential costume a must? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
