PlayStation Crashes Into E3 With Huge Announcements On God Of War, Call Of Duty, VR, And More

After several announcements at E3, PlayStation 4 owners and PlayStation fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months and that’s just from the Press Conference news — E3 still has 2 more days to go. The video is just below but to save you some time, here a few of the biggest takeaways from PlayStation’s Press Conference at E3 2016 in no particular order.

HalfLife 3 PlayStation VR is confirmed! Its official launch date in North America is October 13, 2016 with three Virtual Reality experiences (also known as games) that will be available for launch. Farpoint looks like a first person survival game and  was developed by Impulse Gear. EA brings us Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission while RockSteady and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment bring Batman: Arkham VR to the table.

In non-VR news, Marvel and Sony are giving the new Spider-Man his own game with the help of Insomniac Games. The exact title has yet to be named, however the game will be a PS4 exclusive. Check out the trailer below, it looks amazing already.

God of War is also getting a fresh start through Santa Monica Studio and will not, I repeat, will not be a reboot. “Everything, everywhere changes” is the mantra of the new vision of our favorite man-turned-god Kratos breaking his cycle for violence and destruction. His story continues from where we left off with him through personal growth, harnessing his anger when the situation calls for it and then quieting his demons to continue on his new and unfamiliar path.

Capcom has been working hard at the new Resident Evil 7 biohazard which will be available for both PS4 and PS VR.  Releasing on January 24, 2017, the Resident Evil saga continues with an immersive first-person view and a photo-realistic graphical style to bring this horror story to life. A teaser demo is available on the PlayStation Store called “Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour”.
