WatchMojo Hack

It’s a day ending in ‘Y’ so chances are good somebody has gotten hacked. Tonight the victim appears to be the popular YouTube list channel, WatchMojo. WatchMojo is based in Quebec, and the site publishes top 10 lists daily including lists regarding movies, TV, videogames, comedy, and more. The YouTube channel currently has over 12 million subscribers.

Tonight, the vast majority of videos on the WatchMojo YouTube channel have slightly different titles than usual. In fact, nearly every video has the title “HACKED BY OBNOXIOUS AND PEIN twitter.com/poodlecorp.” Going to the aforementioned Twitter account presents you with an account created this month, with exactly two tweets as of this publishing: one pinned tweet simply saying “Soon 😉 #PoodleCorp #Summer2016” and the other includes a video of a small child talking about the WatchMojo hack.

Most of the videos have only had their titles changed, though there are also two new videos that almost certainly weren’t uploaded by WatchMojo. The first was published 3 hours ago (again, as of this publishing) and simply says “Top 5 Facts About the Yakuza” and includes random images and voiceover, including clips from Archer and other TV shows and movies, and an overlay at the front of the video professing the hack. The second was published an hour ago and is a similarly strange video regarding Neanderthal myths. This video also features random movie clips, and seems to try harder to emulate the overall style of the regular WatchMojo videos.

WatchMojo has not posted anything regarding this hack, though we have reached out to the site for comment. We will be sure to update this article with any response that we get.

Do you subscribe to WatchMojo, or are you familiar with their videos? Did you notice something off with their video list tonight? Let us know in the comments, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
