There’s no question drones and drone racing are becoming more popular. Now, you can get a taste of drone racing with Autonomous’ Indiegogo campaign, which includes everything you need to get started — and more.
In addition to just drones and controllers, there are options to add flags, cones, and even headsets to the Drone Racing Game. The headsets will give you a first-person perspective while racing your drones, and no doubt make for a more immersive drone racing experience. The included app allows you to challenge your friends, climb leaderboards, and check out racing footage from other racers.

The maximum flight time of the drone is only seven minutes, but according to Autonomous is enough for at least three races. Spare batteries are also available for purchase to give racers more flight time. The controlling distance is about 50-meters (164 feet), and according to the company it’s very easy to fly and almost requires no skills but they do recommend you to start the game with the free style mode to have some practices before getting ready for the races.

There’s still a month left to head over and support the campaign which reached its goal within the first hour. The Start Kit will set you back $79USD, while the Pro Kit is currently selling for $99 (only a few left), and the Ultimate Kit will set you back $149. Production has already begun, and the drones are expected to start shipping to backers in August, with shipping completed by October.
