Occasionally, a piece of hardware comes along that really just makes your jaw hit the floor. Just ahead of the official opening of IFA in Berlin, Acer announced just such a device. The Acer Predator 21 X gaming laptop is going to be a beast. Just looking at this thing you get the feeling that it’s going to destroy something… in a good way, of course.

Let’s just start with the screen. As you may have implied from the “21 X” naming convention, this laptop features a 21″ screen. If that weren’t enough, it’s a curved 21″ IPS display with a 2560 x 1080 resolution. If THAT weren’t enough, the 21 X features Tobii eye-tracking technology which allows a new immersive means of control that is more intuitive and natural as well as NVIDIA® G-SYNC™. We’re already off to a completely ridiculous start and we’ve only talked about the screen. It only gets more bananas from here.

Powering the pixels that appear on that behemoth of a display are dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 GPUs in SLI mode. The brains of the operation are 7th generation Intel Core processors, and undoubtedly a simply crazy amount of RAM. You’re going to be able to run anything you could possibly want to run on Ultra settings on this bad boy…

The audio experience ought to be worth checking out, featuring SoundPound 4.2+. Other than having a fantastic name, SoundPound 4.2+ features four speakers and two subwoofers, 3-way audio, and Dolby Audio tuning. With all of that hardware you’re going to need some powerful cooling. Acer’s got that covered too with five (5!) system fans.

Controlling the mayhem will be easy with a full-sized mechanical keyboard featuring Cherry MX switches. You’ll be able to customize each individual key as they all have their own RGB backlight settings. The numeric keypad even has tricks up its sleeve — it can be flipped over and turned into a precision touchpad.

If you’re interested in an Acer Predator 21 X of your own, you’ll probably want to start saving your pennies, this thing isn’t going to be cheap. All of that power though, just think of what you could do having this predator on your side.
