CloudMagic relaunches as Newton with features abound

The folks at CloudMagic have shaken things up with their email client. Gone is the blue envelope and CloudMagic name, and in its place a new identity as Newton. Along with a new, more mature identity, Newton features a new purple icon. Of course, it’s not all aesthetics with the supercharged email app. The app features read receipts, email snoozing, send later, undo send, sender profiles, along with connected apps. Those who have used CloudMagic will remember connected apps better as cards.

The app isn’t free though, and comes with a $49.99 a year subscription. The folks at Newton say the cost will help with reliability.

“We’ve arrived at this price after much consideration and believe this will allow us to invest in building a solid product, guaranteeing you with the best experience month after month (and cover recurring server costs).” They said in a blog post. “For some time, email solutions were all about jazz with little reliability that only gave more frustration than value to users. We want to change that by offering you a product that just works.”

Current CloudMagic users should notice the new coat of paint when they update the app. Users will receive a 14-day trial to test out these brand new features. Once the two week trial is over, users will have a chance to subscribe. Of course, you’ll be able to subscribe anytime during the 14-day trial. Those users who have paid for the Mac app or the sender profile feature previously will get an automatic one-year subscription to Newton.

If you’re still on the fence  on whether or not you want to give it a go, we have a video for you to check out below.

Newton is available for iOS (iPhone and iPad), macOS, Apple Watch,  Android, Android Wear and tablets. I’ve been using Newton for a few days now, and so far, it’s been a solid experience. Look for a review in the coming weeks.
