Gamers who were on the fence about ReCore can now play the free trial for 30 minutes.

The first Xbox Play Anywhere game to launch, ReCore, is getting a free trial on both Windows 10 and Xbox One. The action adventure game, developed by Comcept and Armature Studio and published by Microsoft Studios, follows the adventures of Joule Adams and her Corebot companions as she must uncover the secrets of a utopian colony dubbed Far Eden. While previous trials of most games on Xbox One have been around the 4 hours mark, the ReCore trial is limited to a mere 30 minutes.

We’re excited to let you know that, starting today, anyone who hasn’t yet had the opportunity to play ReCore can now experience their first 30 minutes of the game in a free trial version on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. Players will meet Joule, her Corebot companion Mack, and begin their adventure in the beautiful and mysterious world of Far Eden. If you decide to buy the full game afterwards, you can pick up right where you left off, as your progress (and Achievements) in the trial will be reflected in the full game.

In addition to the free trial, ReCore received a “significant update” yesterday. While the game has received positive reception with regards to the story, platforming, and controls, reviews have been rife with complaints about long loading screens and other technical issues. The update included decreased loading times, audio and visual improvements, achievement tracking, collision locations, experiences with waypoints, checkpoints, and respawn points.
