Mac users saw the release of two new MacBooks yesterday, and LG has announced two new LG UltraFine displays to complement the MacBook and MacBook Pro. Designed to integrate with the new MacBook and MacBook Pro models, the UltraFine 27″ comes with a 5K resolution while the smaller LG UltraFine 21.5″ monitor touts a 4K resolution.

27″ LG UltraFine 5K monitor
The 27″ LG UltraFine 5K monitor with Thunderbolt 3 support has a resolution of 5120×2880 (218 ppi), and covers 99% of the P3 color space using advanced IPS display technology. Color shift and color loss from any angle is also minimized, and a monitor like this will definitely appeal to video and photography professionals.
In addition to being the first 5K display with Thunderbolt 3, this monitor can also receive and transfer 5K video, audio, and data from the MacBook Pro while charging it at the same time through a single Thunderbolt 3 cable. The monitor also houses three USB Type-C ports for additional connectivity, a front-facing camera and microphones, high fidelity integrated speakers, and a height and tilt-adjustable stand.

The smaller of the two LG UltraFine monitors has a similar ppi (219) with it’s 4096×2304 4K resolution. Also covering 99% of the P3 spectrum, the 21.5″ version uses a USB Type-C connection for video, data, and power, and also includes three USB Type-C slots for connecting extra devices, a high-quality Rich Bass Speaker, and an adjustable stand.

The 21.5-inch LG UltraFine 4K model (with an MSRP of $699.95USD) will be available starting in November and the 27-inch LG UltraFine 5K model (with an MSRP of $1299.95USD) will be available in early December at Apple Stores in the United States.
