Are there any Bastion fans still out there? If so, you’re in luck as a newer version of Bastion will be coming out for the Xbox One soon. Bastion first debuted back in July of 2011 in the Summer of Arcade showcase for the Xbox 360 and has sold over 4 million copies on different gaming systems. The game was developed by SuperGiant Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
In case you’re unawares of what the game entails, here’s a quick intro to Bastion:
An original action role-playing game set in a lush imaginative world, players must create and fight for civilization’s last refuge as a mysterious narrator marks their every move.
Anyway, as I mentioned before, SuperGiant Games is happy to announce that Bastion will come to the Xbox One on December 12th (next month), so if you already own the game on Xbox 360, you’ll be able to download it to your Xbox One for free for a limited time (until January 1st, 2017). If you want to fully purchase the game, it’s retail value is $14.99. The game was re-built to also give you that native feel for the Xbox One.
SuperGiant Games shares differences between the two versions.
The main differences compared with the Xbox 360 original are that the game runs in full 1080p (versus 720p in the original), and there are more Achievements to unlock. It also includes the Stranger’s Dream DLC, which wasn’t available at the game’s launch.
On the plus side, you can pre-order a Bastion anniversary t-shirt for $19.99. The shirt was designed by artist Nina Matsumoto and will ship out during the holiday.
If you haven’t experienced the game yet, here’s a taste of what you can expect.
