Nextbit Robin

We found the Robin to be a great deal even at its full price of $399.

Admittedly, this is a slightly older device, but one that has received rave reviews, including from us here at Techaeris. You can read our full review of the device that earned a Top Pick for 2016 earlier this year, and then you can pick up one of your own for a mere $170. As recently as a month ago you could snag a Nextbit Robin for $175, though there were a couple of hoops that needed jumping before arriving at that price. Now there are no tricks, no coupons, just a solid phone at an incredibly reasonable price.

For those unaware, I’ll recap just a bit what the Robin is about.

The Nextbit Robin is a unique experiment in cloud storage and mobile technology. The phone’s UI is very much like phones made by MEIZU and Xiaomi, the user experience is more like an iPhone than an Android. Of course you can change that with a custom launcher should you not like it. Nextbit includes cloud storage with this phone and backs everything up to the cloud. This is supposed to keep your phone free of unused apps and pictures giving you plenty of space.

We found the Robin to be a great deal even at its full price of $399. At this point, you won’t be getting top-of-the-line hardware anymore, but the experience should still be well worth your money. With the holidays coming up, this could be a good starter phone for a teenager, or really just for anybody who doesn’t care about the bleeding edge of specs in the smartphone world. You’ll get a solid smartphone at a great price, which is more than enough for most.
