We’ve seen our fair share of garish and gaudy cars before, but the new Lexus LIT IS just might take the cake. A 2017 Lexus IS was decked out with 41,999 LED lights which were programmed with dynamic designs which react to both movement and music.
As you can see from the video above, this special edition IS has a number of different design sequences and also reacts to driver movements and responds to music much like LED speakers would. A lot of work obviously went into the exterior of the car with 41,999 LED lights (surely they could have squeezed one more in for an even 42,000) pumping out 175,000 lumens of light over 2,640 feet of LED strips and 5,280 feet of wiring. You have to admit, it does look pretty cool, but it’d definitely be a distraction on the road for other drivers, not to mention the cost to fix it if any of the LEDs was damaged in some way.
If you were wondering where you can pick one of these up, you’re out of luck as this is just a special edition vehicle which is not for sale. Unfortunately, neither is their Lexus IS Sriracha model — but kudos to the marketing team for the Lexus IS!
