Design
The Ugreen Apple Watch charging stand design isn’t all that much to look at. It looks very similar to other docks on the market from bigger named brands. The difference here is, the magnetic charging puck/cable is built into the device and is MFi certified. Many of the other brands require that you use the Apple charging puck that came with your Apple Watch. Having it built in not only makes it easier to set up, but it also frees up your original charging puck for mobile use.
The Ugreen Apple Watch charging stand has a weighted bottom, though it’s not overly heavy and I do wish it was a bit heavier than it actually is. Around the back of the device is the power port for the included wall outlet cable and two USB ports for charging at least two other devices, like your iPhone. The top of the device has a small lip that allows you to rest your iPhone in landscape mode so you can charge it via the USB port in the back.
The charging arm is nice so you can orient the Apple Watch in a few different ways and does add versatility to the device. Overall the aesthetic look of the device isn’t all that pleasing but the functionality is most certainly there.
Ease of Use
The nice thing about the Ugreen is there is no need to insert and snake your existing Apple Watch charger into it. This is simple plug-and-play and you’re ready to go.
Performance
The Ugreen is MFi certified which means Apple has given it the blessing and it is safe to use with your Apple Watch and iPhone. The Ugreen works perfectly and charges both iDevices with ease and you can add a third device if you like.
Price/Value
The MSRP on the Ugreen is $79.99USD but it’s consistently been on Amazon for $49.99USD which is a super deal considering the Apple Watch charging puck is included and integrated into this device.
Wrap Up
This is a decent dock for the price, the fact that it already comes with the charging puck built-in is a major plus over other docks that make you use your own Apple provided puck. It’s also very good that the product is MFi certified, which means this isn’t counterfeit Apple stuff.
