Will you take part in the next global mission in Pokémon Sun/Moon?

The first/previous Pokémon Sun and moon global mission event ended up in failure. It had trainers go out and catch 100,000,000 (one hundred million) Pokémon as a group which was a giant stretch even if it was beat. The mission ended up in defeat with everyone only capturing 16.4 million Pokémon. I believe it’s because in order for you to be part of the event you had to sign up with a Pokémon Global Link account.

This time around, you will still need to create a PGL (Pokémon Global Link) account if you have not already, but if you have the only thing you need to do is head over to the festival and Game Sync at the PC in the castle. The mission this time is for everyone to use the Island Scan feature (Pokémon not found in Alola) which allows you to either capture or defeat 1,000,000 (one million) Pokémon. The global mission will run from December 27th 2016 at 4am UTC and will end on January 9th 11:59pm UTC. If the goal is reached everyone will receive 4,034 Festival Coins, but if it ends up failing players will only receive 434 Festival Coins. For those that haven’t linked a PGL, you will receive 2,017 Festival Coins if successful with the mission, but if not only 217 coins will be distributed.

If you’re not sure where to go to join the mission, just follow these steps:

1. Enter Festival Plaza in Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon by selecting it in your in-game menu, which you’ll find by pressing the X Button.
2. Enter Festival Plaza’s central castle.
3. Speak to the global mission receptionist on the right and let her know you want to participate in the global mission.
4. Remember to return before the mission ends to sync your game to add to the global count! Once you are participating in the global mission, talk to the receptionist to have your progress sent to the server.

If you participated in the last global mission, do you plan on joining in on this one? Let us know by leaving your comments down below or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
