Walmart may sell Nintendo Switch pre-orders for $400

Nintendo has their big Nintendo Switch event tomorrow and we’re all excited to hear more about this new console. Everything will hopefully be detailed about the system tomorrow during the event and we should get a look at the games that will be launched with it. A rumored price leaked from a Walmart employee may have given us an idea as to what the gaming console may cost when Nintendo Switch pre-orders start.

A Walmart employee took to Reddit and has given us a picture of what could be the pre-order pricing of the Nintendo Switch. The date on the tag is listed as yesterday, January 10th, 2017 so that does work out with Nintendo’s event tomorrow. The Walmart employee also said that the tag “just dropped in the system,” so we may or may not be looking at the actual price, but it’s still too high for what gamers and analysts are expecting the console to be with other rumors stating around $250USD.

If the price is right, it’ll be in the same bracket as the Playstation 4 Pro and $100 more than Microsoft’s Xbox One S. However, the Switch isn’t going to offer high-end specs and performance like these other two consoles do. Even so, $400USD could be the price of a bundle that we don’t know of yet. Walmart didn’t indicate, or may not have enough space on the sticker to put that it might be a bundle so we’re just speculating at this point.

We all know to take this with a grain of salt until tomorrow when Nintendo should announce the pricing and other stuff at their event, but what do you think about Nintendo asking $400USD (even if it’s a bundle) for their next gaming console? Do you still plan on purchasing one? Let us know by leaving your comments down below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
