Netflix’s original movie iBoy mixes smartphones and superheroes

Netflix’s newest original movie iBoy has an interesting story and plot that revolves around smartphones and superheroes. I have to admit, reading the synopsis and watching the trailer haven’t convinced me completely that this will be an amazing film. Of course, that doesn’t mean that it will completely suck, you can still have an entertaining movie that isn’t amazing. Probably the most intriguing cast member here is Maisie Williams, best known for her role as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, it will be interesting to see her in another role.

Tom is an average teenager whose world is turned on its head when a violent encounter with local thugs leaves fragments of his shattered smartphone embedded in his brain. He wakes from a coma to discover that returning to normal teenage life is impossible because he has developed a strange set of superpowers. With these new powers he sets out to seek revenge on the gang, who also assaulted his best friend Lucy.

iBoy is a Netflix original film starring Bill Milner, Maisie Williams, Miranda Richardson and Rory Kinnear and is available on Netflix globally from January 27th, 2017.

This storyline and plot could be a stretch for some viewers but I am willing to give it a chance and will be checking it out on January 27th.

What do you think of iBoy? Is this trailer enough to convince you to watch it? Or do you need a bit more before you commit? Let us know your thoughts and comments below or on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
