Smartwatches are still one of those tech markets that still hasn’t shaken out completely and consumers are still on the fence about them.

Pebble watches are no longer going to be made or sold and right now they’re seeing some deep price cuts on Amazon. Pebble’s intellectual property was bought out by Fitbit and Pebble has stopped supporting their hardware so you’re basically on your own if you buy one. Even so, the watches will continue to work as before and for some of the prices here, it may be worth it to some who are curious about smartwatches.

The Pebble Time lists at $149.99USD and is currently selling for $69.50USD with Amazon Prime. The classier looking Pebble Steel also lists at $149.99USD and has been slashed down to $59.95USD which is teetering on an impulse buy. Pebble watches are a bit different than the Apple Watch or Android Wear as they are a bit more minimalistic but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Some users may only need the time, some notifications and fitness tracking rather than a bevy of full blown apps on their wrist.

Smartwatches are still one of those tech markets that still hasn’t shaken out completely and consumers are still on the fence about them. For tech geeks, smartwatches are just another page in their tech storybook. For regular consumers, who may need more convincing, the Pebble watches deal might be a good introduction into the smartwatch world.

It will be interesting to see what Fitbit does with Pebble’s intellectual property, perhaps we’ll be seeing a Fitbit with new features in the near future. What do you think about smartwatches? Have you purchased one? Why are you waiting? Does this Pebble watch deal on Amazon tempt you? Let us know your thoughts and comments below or hit us up on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
