There’s no doubt that retro gaming still holds a place in many gamers’ hearts, especially when you consider how quickly the NES Classic Edition sold out. Every time you turn around, it seems like a classic game has been ported to or received an HD remake for today’s consoles. The Xbox One is no exception with games like Rare Replay, two volumes of Atari Flashback Classics, and much more. To round out the retro gaming experience on the Xbox One, retro gaming peripheral maker Hyperkin has announced that the Hyperkin X91 controller will be released on February 21st.
The retro Xbox One controller is a throwback to the 90s-style controller with a premium build and the same features of the Xbox One controller. Being officially licensed, the wired controller will also work on Windows 10 PCs and laptops. Available in red (the coolest looking of the lot in my opinion), black, or white, the Hyperkin X91 Controller includes precision analog triggers, a 3.5mm headset jack, and a 9′ long cable.
I’ve never had an issue with the size of the Xbox One controller, in fact I’ve always liked the size, feel, and layout of it, but the smaller size of the Hyperkin X91 will also have its appeal for kids and those with smaller hands. You can pre-order the Hyperkin X91 on Hyperkin’s website or Amazon for $29.99USD. As mentioned above, it is expected to ship on February 21st.
